Hey everyone,

If I don't post this weekend I apologize. I've got a bad eye infection and just went to the doctor this morning to get a perscription for it. I've been told not to wear contacts for a week, So I can't see because i've been putting off getting glasses... I'm getting them Sunday.

But I can't try out facial makeup products until it's better, and I can't see products. So i'm not really trying out new things.

Sorry, I'll be back when my eye sight it back.

Peace.

Hand cream!

A couple of days ago I noticed that my hands were starting to flake, and now i'm going to introduce to you the solution, Glysomed!

For several days I used moisturizer after moisturizer and all of them did the same thing, irritate my skin more. They all started to burn on my hand upon application. With Glysomed you have several options of packaging - the jar, the bottle, or the tube. I've had the jar in my cabinet for ages now and every once in a while i'd open it up and would fall in love all over again. With this cream my hands feel silky to the touch (must be the silicone or the glycerine) whatever it is my friends have been complimenting me on the softness of my hands and ask what i've been using. Keep in mind a little bit goes a long way, a dollop is all you need. Otherwise I find my hands get greasy.

The scent is the only thing i'm not so crazy about, but there is also an unscented option. It smells like camomile tea. The cream is well worth a shot.

My buddies at school are always borrowing it from me during class, I might have to include this in their little holiday packs for christmas.

And the flakes? Gone within 2 days.

Glysomed can be purchased at most drugstores. The jar is $5.99 but a tube is only $3.49.

Mascara

Do your lashes need a quick boost of a little something in the morning? I know I do on those mornings where I roll out of the bed and my eyes are droopy from lack of sleep. Here are some of my quick fix solutions to get your lash fantasy!

Clinique Naturally Glossy Lashes:
I have must've tried a million mascaras and only this summer did I find my favorite. This mascara is very natural, it only adds colour to your lashes (as opposed to adding volume & thickening). I curled my lashes and then slapped on a coat of this and instantly defined lashes without a single clump. I continued to add coats and let them dry, after I put on 2 more coats I still had no clumps and my lashes still looked natural. This stuff has a permanent home in my makeup bag. Oh Clinique, How I love you.

Maybelline Great Lash (curved brush)
This mascara never fails to please! I find if I use an eyelash curler and then put on a coat of this stuff I achieve the perfect daytime doll eyes look which actually reminds me of the perfume bottle for Dolly Girl by Anna Sui. On my friend however it gives her what Cliniques Naturally Glossy gives me, Perhaps she has a case of a lighter hand. Whatever the case, Great Lash should be a staple in every girls makeup bag. Also if you do get a clump or two with this run a kleenex through it before using it.

Clinique Long Pretty Lashes:
. My wonderful grandmother bought this as a gift for graduation picture purposes (next month, goly!) . I find this is similar to naturally glossy in the aspect of how it looks on, but it does give your lashes a bit more volume and curl. So if you want a natural, clump free lash that does have that added flare then definetly reach for this one. I know i'll be buying one later, for sure.

Covergirl Lash Exact:
I was reluctant to try this out after having CG's triple mascara flake off onto my cheek. However Lash Exact is completely different. I suppose it's the formulation and the brush that I love so much about this product. It provides a bit more dramatic look, but without all the hassle of using a lash comb to dig out all the clumps. I think this stuff is worth the shot, i've seen it work on some people and i've seen it look horrible on others. I like it though.

That's all for now, Enjoy the mascara hunting!

Clinique mascaras retail for $17 CAD. Great Lash was $4 CAD & Lash Exact was $8 CAD, both of which can be found at any drugstore.

My first negative review.

Generally I don't have much problems with any products I try. When they do occur though it's mostly the product doesn't do what it says it will. However sometimes I find I like the product inside but I hate the packaging. And this is what happened to me with The WashCo Green Apple & Juicy Pear shower gel. I've actually had this product for a while now, the end of summer to be precise. I want to love it, but I really just cant. Why? Way too much product comes out because it's a wide open bottle and nothing to prevent a huge dollop instead of a nice size coming out. There's always way too much bubbles and way too much waste.

This could be easily prevented by using a cap with a hole in the middle to release just a little bit. The shower gel does smell really nice like apples and pears and something else citrus! So it's just that one little packaging flaw that has completely ruined it for me.

Until they decide it's a bad idea to keep their packaging the way it is, I wouldn't buy it. Today I bought Olay cream ribbons body wash with almond oil I hope this one is more pleasing.

I can't remember how much the shower gel was, but it wasn't much anyways. Maybe $4 CAD.

Oops!

Sorry everyone, I havn't updated much in the past two days. I'll have an update tommorow night, After field hockey i'm going to the mall to buy the body shops vitamin e skincare line. Any knowledge on this product?

I'm going to give it a whirl anyways.

It's 1:30 in the morning and i'm pooped!!! School and watching Munich made me so tired!!

Today has been one of those lazy days that I don't feel like getting out of bed, i'm sure everyone has those. However I usually have to be up and out of bed by 7:00 to deal with the wild beast. The wild beast? My naturally very wavy hair. Lately i've been actually able to sleep in a bit longer and wake up 5 minutes before my mom wants me out of the house. The reason? Sunsilks Hydra TLC hair product line.

I've used the Anti-poof one to combat my summer poof and it did its job, as expected. However, Now that winter has made its return I had to switch up my products for moisture infused ones, Shampoo included. I've heard a few people say they liked the Hydra TLC line and so I figured it was worth a shot, heck if the AP products worked then it was definetly a possibility.

The shampoo and conditioner smells very nice like rose and a little something else sweet, perhaps apple? The scent itself lasts all day and is certainly all the perfume I need if i'm rushing out of the house, That's one thing I really loved about it! The other thing? It actually did it's job. I followed all the directions and my hair was the softest it's been in ages. The best part of it all however, was waking up the next morning to manageable flattering waves. That has been the first time that has ever happened!

This stuff has a permanent home in my shower.

On another note I also recieved a coupon for a free 250 mL bottle of Doves new handwash. I rushed out to buy it of course (i'm a shopaholic). I chose the Deep Moisture and if I like it, you'll hear about it. Along with that purchase I bought OPIs Aphrodites Pink Nightie nail polish from the Greek Isles collection! It's a gorgeous colour, can't wait to try it.

You can buy Sunsilk at most drugstores anywhere from $3-6 CAD.

Winter

After a brief snow in mid September, Winter has made it's return to Alberta. Now if there's one thing I hate about the cold, it's a runny nose. With my puffs Kleenex and my moisturizer in hand I combat the red nose syndrome quite well. The moisturizer of choice at the moment? Proactiv's "Repairing Lotion". Not only does this fight the trauma of the odd blemish that erupts, it's creamy smooth and light weight. However, After you apply this you should really put on a sunscreen.

I've been using the lotion twice a day for about a month now and while my skin only had a blemish or two, I can see results. My nose and cheeks are the softest they've been for a year. I am not so fond of the cleanser (overexfoliation) or the toner (which tends to dry out my skin) I am absolutely nuts over the lotion.

You can buy the lotion with the three piece set for $70 CAD or on its own for $32 (I think, I just pulled the information off the site. I have not bought the lotion by itself yet)

Family.

For about two years now i've been surfing Sephoras website about once a week, i'm addicted. The problem? Alberta has no Sephoras. However, my Uncle moved to San Francisco earlier this year and it was only today that I realized he could probably scope it out for me and pick up an item or two that I wanted and I could pay him to do so. Today I was surfing the site and there I saw it - Sephora has released its holiday collection! Mmm nothing but wants and absolute needs. The needs you ask? Double rich hot cocoa three in one. I am a chocolate fiend, on a chocolate diet (I must fit into my grad dress).

I immediatly dialed my uncle long distance, faked asking him a question on statistics homework I had already finished and then slipped the question in. He said he'd take a look for it, and was also wanting to go down there anyways and look for kelly green pigment for a holiday gift too (it was sold out when he checked in July)

Anyways, I say you should pick this up if you're near a Sephora. It's $16 US. I've got to run and catch the bus to meet up with my boyfriend.

Ciao fashionistas!

My "Holy Grail" Chapstick

Since I was 8 I have had the bad habit of biting my lips when I get stressed. Man, does that ever cause me a lot of trouble in Albertas dry winters. Until I was 10 I stuck to my lipsmackers, they were good but they wouldn't last me more than a month before I lost them. When I turned 15 I upgraded to the TLC pots from MAC, and they were good... But I kept licking them off. BAD!

I admit, when I see a person pull out a product for a quick touch up i'm tempted to try what they've got on. Well a few weeks ago my boyfriends, sister whipped out a Blistex Silk & Shine out of her purse. It gave her a nice shimmer and added something to her lips. I just had to get my hands on one. That's exactly what I did the next day, needless to say for almost a month now my tube of it has a nice home in my pockets. The tube is almost half done already!!!

The back of the packaging promises that the unique silk and vitamin formula makes lips feel satiny smooth and enhances their natural appearance with the glossy finish. This also includes vitamins a, b5, and e & spf 15 protection.

I'm hooked, now it's your turn. I got mine at a drugstore for $3 CAD.

OPI 25th Anniversery Collection

My collection of nail polishes has started to collect dust lately. It's always the fall/winter season where I stock up on nail polish and forget about make-up until I see something strikes my curiosity. I had ventured out today looking for a Black Satin dupe. I browsed around the various malls around town and the closest I could find was Nightfall from MAC, however it had sold out.

I was ready to pack up and go home when I decided to scope out a hair salon to see what nail care products they had. That's when I saw it, The perfect cherry red! It struck me as something Dita Von Teese would sport. I bought it and stripped off the nail polish I had on and immediatly polished this onto it. Normally red nail polishes are too extreme for my fair skinned, teenaged image, but this is definetly a must have.

You can pick up OPI at most nail salons and hair salons. Quarter of a cent-cherry is from the 25th Anniversery Collection and was priced at $10 CAD.

(And yes - I did put myself on the Black Satin waiting list & the Nightfall waiting list. They are both too gorgeous to pass up)
